ICG News for January 2009…

Richard comments - Welcome all to a New Year and from all of us here at ICG hope you had a fantastic Christmas break and enjoyed the time off if you had a holiday. Last year was a year of change both here and abroad and we saw history in the making with Barack Obama winning the USA elections and on our domestic scene John was the key to the election! We saw a totally new employment environment here and this year will bring to us more changes with the governments new 90 trial period and it will be interesting to see what impact if any that this will have from the 1st of April this year. With the dawning of 2009 and the new business year hopefully the uncertainty of last year is well behind us and that we are on the way to a change in economic climate. As usual the team at ICG is ready to assist you in your recruitment needs as we are all well rested from last year and ready to go to work for you!

Nicola Jane comments - Wow, where did that all go?! After starting at ICG officially on the 17th November 2008, I cannot believe we are now in 2009 and another wonderful year in front of us. For a supposed down turn in the market and coming into a brand new industry for me, it has turned out to be so exhilarating and exciting and so busy. With placing candidates right up to Christmas and kicking of the New Year with more roles to fill it does not appear to be ‘slow’ at all. A change of industry for me after 20 years in finance has been very refreshing but at the same time reinforcing to me the importance of transferable skills between industries of which it is very prevalent in today’s market. Being able to ‘pick up and go’ makes life so much easier when faced with decisions after redundancy etc. I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting clients and candidates so far and look forward to meeting more over the coming months.

Nikki comments - Well what can I say we are back into the New Year after our well earned break, new premises and moving forward as we do at ICG. This is a big year for the team with our expansion into Australia. Our aim in Christchurch is to continue to service our clients and candidates at the highest level and better than any other agency in town. We will continue to keep you all informed and well communicated in the market and what new trends are happening out there. We are very excited to take on the next project, watch people walk out our door with stunning revamped CV’s. Listen to the squeals of our candidates when they have just had the news “they just got the job”, hearing the sigh of relief when we have managed to place a successful candidate with the employer. Send our fantastic ICG associates along to companies that need that extra service in Human Resources, Performance Management and Employment Law. So here we are – now 2009 and good to go for January and ready to hit the next 12 months with attitude and professionalism.

Saili comments - I am now entering my third year at ICG and it has been an amazing ride. We are moving to our third office that I have been in, and the locations just get better as well as bigger. To those of you who don’t know what I do, you may have spoken to me on the phone or had an email from me as well. I perform most of the administration tasks here and these include revamping your CV for you as well as confirming your appointments. I talk with you about the roles that we have on as well as talking to you as clients of ours to make the process as easy as possible for you to see our candidates.
