Welcome to our very first ICG
Newsletter May 2008.
What we want to achieve with
this newsletter is to supply you all with informative
monthly news as well as local updates on events
and how we how we are finding the current market.
We are going to be offering
EVERY month, to one lucky reader, the opportunity
to win a great prize. EVERY month you will be
able enter the draw to win a night out on the
team at ICG. These will change every month so
you will need to check out the link each time
we send it to you to see what is on offer for
the month. The winner will be notified by email
and also displayed on our newsletter on the web
site. We will upload our newsletter in the first
week of each month to our website so you can look
forward to this.
The current market appears to
be entering an interesting phase for employers
who are looking for new staff. In the past year
there has been a shortage of good quality candidates
and now it appears to have turned the corner and
we are experiencing a greater supply of quality,
similar to two years ago. This may be an indication
of a tightening in the number of job vacancies
in the market place as we generally are not influenced
by seasons of the year.
At ICG we always have a pool
of what we call “passive” candidates
who are not actively looking for new positions,
however they say to us “if you see... type
of role, then let me know. These types of candidates
encompass all types of industries and job titles
and include the following, General Managers –
Branch Managers – Operation Managers many
various administration positions as well as others.
What we all need to ascertain is “what is
the catalyst in making them look”, is it
just for a change, are they being paid what they
should be, and are they unhappy due to the changes
in the current market. These are just a few of
the things that could be going on in there lives
and there will someone where you work that will
probably be feeling this way! At ICG we have an
opportunity to gain first hand the reasons why
this happens and it’s great that we now
have this newsletter as an informal way of sharing
some of their stories.
