Fantastic – October is here already,
this means warmer weather, longer evenings
and the chance to enjoy all that Christchurch
has to offer. So close to Christmas now
only 12 weeks to go! We are already planning
with some of our clients for the Xmas
break and their need for temp staff. We
have had a slight name change and we are
now called ICG Recruitment Group, which
reflects better on what we do.
In this newsletter we are going to talk
about Head Hunting, Quality Candidates
and Opportunities across the Tasman.
Headhunting for the right staff
There maybe times you have thought about
contacting someone that just does a great
job with one of your competitors and you
are not sure how to go about it. Headhunting
has a place in today’s market and
sometimes your business may just need
“that” person that is either
better than what you are or can bring
along the performance your business needs.
Feel free to have a confidential chat
with one of the ICG directors to find
out how we can help you in this sensitive
area of business.
Opportunities across the Tasman
Recently we have been over to Queensland
to research the job market to see if it
is as exciting as all of the reports suggest.
At ICG we are now working with companies
in Queensland and are keen to talk to
anyone thinking of relocating to this
part of Australia. We are able to liaise
with companies in Queensland on your behalf
before you even leave New Zealand. There
is a big market with big opportunities
and we will be able to assist you all
the way.
High Quality Candidates
We have been pleased with the quality
of the candidates that have come in lately
and if you are looking to fill that position
soon, give one of the Team at ICG a call
and we will be able to help you out.
Exit Interviews
Why do them? Do give some serious thought
as to why your staff may be leaving you.
Offering an exit interview is an opportunity
for you and your team to identify any
issues or training that may be require
as well as who your team players are.
ICG can run an exit interview for an investment
of $295.00 plus GST. A full report is
given to you and an opportunity to extract
the knowledge before they leave their
employment.

Phillippa
Elliott shares with us:
Minimising the consequences of redundancy
-
tell it to someone who cares.
Having your position made
redundant? or making others redundant? These
events can be life changing. The affect
of being in a position that is made redundant;
being ‘let go’; and being the
bearer of such news, flows into all areas
of our lives.
The days of significant
redundancy compensation are becoming a distant
memory. Predominantly today’s outplacement
packages focus on; a CV update, letters
of application, some career advice and interview
skills. A good forward plan, and one that
quickly comes undone when the emotions of
grief, anger, resentment, or feelings of
rejection, failure and worthlessness are
not worked through.
These feelings when unresolved
have the ability to keep tainting every
aspect of our lives; family, health, happiness
and new work opportunities. Before you begin
the search for a new role, career or business
venture talk to a professional that cares
and can help. Phillippa Elliott, Elliott
Consultancy.
